This pier near 14th Place East, voted most popular fishing pier in North Carolina in 2005 and 2006 by Fisherman's Post, includes a tackle and bait shop, rod rentals, ice cream, beer and snacks. The legally disabled fish for free, and the owners provide a live-bait tank and a shelter at the T-shaped far end that is reserved for king fishers. Day passes are available and the pier is open seven days a week. All anglers at Ocean Crest Pier are covered under a blanket fishing license. A full-service restaurant and a motel adjoin the pier.
