The Marlins Swim Team, a competitive summer swim team, is a non-profit organization. The team competes with other members of the Wilmington Swim League. Teams are comprised of children 8 years old and younger, 9 to 12 years old and 13 to 18 years old. The team environment teaches responsibility, hard work, respect for others and teamwork. To become a member, a child must be able to swim the full length of a regulation size pool. The Mini Marlins is a learn to swim program for ages 4, 5 and 6. The Mini Marlins teaches the fundamentals of competitive freestyle and backstroke, correct breathing, kicking and pulling.
