April 2020 - Cancelled Coastal Water Watch hosts this environmental appreciation event which includes interesting, fun and educational activities for the whole family. Events are scheduled from 7:30 AM until 5 PM and you can pick and choose which events interest you. Some events require pre-registration. Tickets are sold at the Adventure Kayak Company and the NC Maritime Museum at Southport.

8:00 AM - Bird Walk in downtown Southport - pre-registration required (910-547-9453).
8:30 AM - 1:00 pm- Presentations and Plant Sale Begins in Franklin Square park (Southport Garden Club) with the opportunity to learn about pollinators to include:
•The benefits of bats—- Bald Head Island Conservancy
•Honeybees and beekeeping—— UNCW Beekeepers Association
•How to support pollinators and other wildlife with plants—— Brunswick County Master Gardeners Association.
8:30 AM - Green Swamp tour with Dr. Roger Shew departs. Pre-registration (904-290-6802) and $10 fee required. 10:00 AM - Bird boating tours with Southport Boat Rentals. Pre-registration (904-290-6802) and $35 fee required.
1:30 PM - Documentary movie Flight of the Butterflies showing at Southport Baptist Church CMC, 102 E. Nash Street. (45 mins.) Free.
3:00 PM - Lecture presentation by Cape Fear Riverkeeper Kemp Burdette at the Southport Baptist Church CMC, E. Nash Street. (1.5-2 hrs.) Free
