September 29 - 30, 2017  This festival, held on the grounds of the Odell Williamson Auditorium at Brunswick Community College, celebrates the cultural diversity of Brunswick County. On Friday beginning at 7 PM, you can enjoy the African American Dance Ensemble. From 10 AM until 4 PM on Saturday the festival promotes harmony and understanding through the arts of dance, music, crafts, drumming, storytelling and painting as well as ethnic foods and displays of costumes, history, landscape and books. Included in children's activities is 'Passport to Culture' which offers interaction between children, adults and a country representative in 'traveling the world'. Ethnicities represented include Swedish, African, German, Hispanic, Scandinavian, Russian, Polish, Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Irish, Scottish and more. The festival organizers are continuously seeking volunteers for the festival. There is a great need for additional members of the planning committee. For information contact Mari-Lou Wong-Chong at the above phone number.
