Things to Do and See in Southport, NC

The beaches are the main attraction in Oak Island and Bald Head Island, N.C., for good reason. For a day away from the beach, visit Southport. Tour the downtown waterfront area and visit the N.C. Maritime Museum and Waterfront Park, take a carriage ride or walk along the Southport Trail to see 25 historic sites. Nearby, Fort Anderson is an interesting place to visit as well. Oak Island and Bald Head Island both have historic sites to tour as well as nature trails to explore.
